I’m an AI Architect. I connect decades of low-level systems engineering with the new generation of intelligent software delivery — and I design the platforms that make the two hold together.

My work spans Perl, CPAN, hosting automation, cloud platforms, product engineering, and technical leadership. Today, I apply that foundation to multi-agent orchestration, retrieval-augmented generation, AI-assisted development, and modern platform architecture.

The goal is not AI for its own sake. It is to design dependable workflows that reduce cognitive load, expose the right context, improve engineering decisions, and help teams deliver meaningful products faster.

  • Own the reference architecture for the AI automation platform — a layered model separating capability, workflow, agent and model, with the event contracts and agent catalog the platform runs on.
  • Built and operate Kōan, an agent-orchestration platform deployed as per-team bots across nine product areas: automated pull request review, rebase and rework, a reusable skills system, and a missions queue that runs agents unattended 24/7.
  • Set the guardrails that make autonomy safe — agents open pull requests, never merge to main, never ship red, and escalate judgment calls to a human.
  • Lead the AI enablement team and own the transition itself: the training, conventions and tooling that decide whether a team adopts agentic development.
